November… DEAR November… I walked through you with beautiful leaves at my feet, while the sound of fall followed me.
In all honesty I’m a habitual Thanksgiving skipper. I really don’t care about celebrating Thanksgiving. I always feel like Wednesday Addams when she played as Pocahontas in the Camp Chippewa Thanksgiving play. If you’re unaware of the reference… see the movie Addams Family Values.
|| Script insert ||
“Wait, we cannot break bread with you. You have taken the land which is rightfully ours. Years from now my people will be forced to live in mobile homes on reservations. Your people will wear cardigans, and drink highballs. We will sell our bracelets by the road sides, and you will play golf. My people will have pain and degradation. Your people will have stick shifts. The gods of my tribe have spoken. They said do not trust the pilgrims. And especially do not trust Sarah Miller. For all these reasons I have decided to scalp you and burn your village to the ground.”
Nevertheless, we aren’t here to discuss the problematic origins of Thanksgiving. Nor are we here to question, why some people are still under the impression that, Christopher Columbus discovered America in the Niña, the Pinta and the Santa Maria. || Cue the music… Step Brothers – Boats n Hoes || Hahahaha. I’m kidding or am I? No one will ever know.
I do however hope you all enjoyed your Thanksgiving festivities, with family and or close friends. If you’re anything like me you all have already started making plans to enjoy the upcoming holiday season.
Oh and by the way, Happy Birthday to all the November babies!
Now that, Thanksgiving has come and gone… I thought, I should steer clear of the cliché, just saying how thankful I am for my friends and family this holiday. So instead, I made a list of what I am most thankful for in life and I decided to share it with you all.
